Minnie Mouse, Mickey's Better Half
Minnie Mouse made her debut along with Mickey in the 1928 short film "Steamboat Willie". Since then, she has appeared in dozens of cartoons and comics. Mickey is always trying to gain her affection in one way or another. She also starred in her own animated special in 1988, where she sang a duet with rock superstar Elton John.
Fun Minnie Facts:
- Her design was based around flapper-girls of the 1920s.
- Pluto the dog was originally Minnie's pet. Minnie later appeared in shorts with Fifi, a Pekingese, and Figaro, the kitten from Pinocchio.
- The name "Minnie" is just a nickname. Her full name is actually 'Minerva'.
- Minnie and Mickey's voice actors, Wayne Allwine and Russie Taylor, actually tied the knot in 1991.
- She received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 22, 2018.
